What to Expect

Your First Session

Our first session is a collaborative exploration. It is a conversation where we map out your current challenges and how your nervous system is responding to them. We will discuss your history and goals to ensure our work feels safe, grounded, and aligned with the changes you are seeking.

Why I Practice Out-of-Network

I have chosen to operate as an out-of-network provider to prioritize your privacy and the quality of your care:

  • No Mandatory Diagnosis: Insurance companies typically require a formal mental health diagnosis to authorize payment. In this practice, you are not a diagnosis, and we can work together without a permanent label on your medical record.
  • Complete Privacy: Private pay ensures that your treatment records and progress notes remain confidential between us, rather than being shared with insurance auditors.
  • Personalized Care: We—not an insurance company—determine the frequency, duration, and type of therapy that is best for your unique healing journey.

Note: If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with a monthly “superbill” that you may submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

Who This Practice is Best Suited For

This practice is designed for adolescents and adults who are generally functioning in daily life but feel internally overwhelmed, emotionally reactive, chronically stressed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that insight alone has not resolved. Many clients are thoughtful, self-aware individuals seeking a more experiential and nervous-system-informed approach to healing.

Scope of Practice

At this time, this practice may not be the best fit for:

  • Active psychosis or schizophrenia-spectrum disorders
  • Severe substance dependence requiring detoxification or intensive outpatient treatment
  • Court-mandated therapy
  • Acute psychiatric crises requiring stabilization
  • Primary treatment for compulsive sexual behaviors/addictions

If your needs fall outside my scope of practice, I’m happy to help guide you toward more appropriate resources whenever possible.
