From a young age, my analytical nature drove me to try to figure things out. I approached life intellectually—through education, achievement, and later through meditation and psychotherapy—always seeking understanding and insight. This curiosity, combined with a naturally empathetic nature, led me to become a therapist, where I could help others process their own experiences.
Early in my career, I focused on traditional talk therapies and skills-based work. While I still value these methods, I began to notice that even highly motivated clients often remained stuck in deeply rooted emotional and relational loops. This sparked my first shift toward the Havening Technique® and trauma reprocessing—moving beyond insight into the realm of memory reconsolidation.
My deepest understanding of this work came later. After I was already practicing these techniques, I faced a deeply impactful personal experience that I simply could not "skill" my way through. Despite my clinical training, the traditional tools I relied on weren't enough to reach the core of the distress. I had to look beyond standard methods to find new ways to reprocess and make new meaning of the experience.
This personal "stuckness" pushed me to look even further into bottom-up modalities that work directly with the nervous system. It taught me firsthand that some wounds require a path to healing that is as much somatic as it is emotional.
Finding the right therapist is a deeply personal decision. If my approach resonates with you, I invite you to take the first step toward a different kind of healing.
